Yeah, I realized those 6 years development time went to waste when I picked up my copy of Forza 3 and started a rally race under the tuscan night sky. Oh, wait...

Well, at least we still have Forza for easy to pick up arcade handling. Now go costumize me a master chief themed Audi R8.

Lionhead above me pretty much nailed it.

@ GWAVE - You're comparing oranges to apples. The technology deployed in the 3DS (parallax 3D) is unusable on large TV sets because of extremely limited viewing angles. It works on a handheld since you are holding the screen and can adjust it frequently. If the 3DS becomes a huge success and Nintendo decides to jump on the 3D bandwagon for home systems, they will end up eating their own words.

@ soxfan - We're now on the 7th generation of consoles actually.

Anyway, this is a terrible list but it doesn't even come close to the level of fail achieved by Gamedaily with their list. Google it if your interested. I won't even bother linking to that unholy debacle.

@ ChronoJoe - Naughty Dog was indeed founded 24 years ago, but they were only acquired by Sony in 2001. It wouldn't make much sense for Sony to start buying studios 8 years before actually entering the videogames business.

@ everyone else - Naughty Dog is a subsidiary of Sony Computer Entertainment, much like Bungie was Microsoft's and Rare was Nintendo's. Though unlikely, it's not impossible for them to go multiplatform. But I highly doubt it there's anot...

It's true. Sony did legitimize gaming as a FORM OF ENTERTAINMENT. Nintendo deserves all the credit for saving the industry, but before Sony, videogames were seen as mere toys for kids. The PS1 expanded the market beyond the traditional audience and made the general public become aware of gaming.

Now it seems we're moving backwards, turning games into toys once more, with all this motion control waggle nonsense. *sigh*

When I say that I find the Saturn to have much in common with the PS3, I'm referring only to the hardware aspect. They both featured highly unusual yet powerful architectures that relied heavily in parallel processing (nearly unheard of in 1995), but in return were very hard to develop for. And they were both costly to produce, making them more expensive than the competition at retail.

The 32X is one of those dumb corporate decisions that I mentioned. Another one that sta...

It got crushed by the Playstation because SEGA allowed it to be by taking dumb corporate decisions. I was already a gamer during those days and I find the Saturn to have much in common with the PS3. Unfortunately SEGA was unable to do for the Saturn what Sony did for the PS3, which not only ended up killing the system, but also its successor the Dreamcast.

Yes, N4G is a PS3 fansite. That's why stories like this one ( http://n4g.com/news/553496/... ) get approved. That's why the main contributer is a self proclaimed MS fanboy. That's why we have trolls like GreenRingOfLife in every PS3 article./s

EDIT- Another example:

@ ReservoirDog:
Lucky?! My friend, I'd buy some lottery tickets ASAP if I were you. RDR's glitches are very well documented. I ran into my first one just moments after I started the game, when I exited the train and people were rendering halfway through the floor. Just seconds later, I entered the saloon and I witnessed a character leaning against a non existing table. A few minuts after that I saw some pigs rendering upside down (quite hilarious to be honest). I have died tw...

In my opinion, both Bayonetta and Red Dead Redemption are overrated.

Bayonetta looks, plays and feels way too much like DMC. Hell... Take DMC, replace Dante with a disproportionate female, devil trigger with witch time, a proper soundtrack with j-pop and you just got yourself Bayonetta.

As for RDR, it reminds me A LOT of Bully with some GTA4 thrown in for good measure. Controls can be messy and it's filled with glitches. It looks good, but not as good as ...

Best quote from the "article": "But then E32010 came, and what Microsoft revealed at that show changed everything."

And that's where I stopped reading. I wonder if the guy who wrote this is enjoying a free Xbox 360 S.

Parapraxis is right. Not only does the 360 offer limited BC with Xbox games, but also MS stopped supporting the feature a while back. Meaning that the list is no longer being updated and games that didn't get supported earlier, will never get it. If you want to troll, at least get your facts straight.

Oh my friend, but fair and impartial judgment is precisely what's at stake here. MS offered the systems to the members of the press individually, not to the outlets they work for. Those will eventually get their own debug units, capable of reading preview code.

Microsoft's action clearly reads as an attempt to influence media coverage of their conference. We will never know if the people who attended it were successfully swayed, or rather how many of them were swayed....

You got it backwards. Dreamcast launched at $199 vs the PS2 at $299.

You must be thinking of when Sega announced the Saturn at $399 and the very next day Sony announced the Playstation at $299.

5830d ago 11 agree0 disagreeView comment

If the audience at MS's conference were even remotely concerned about their character and integrity, they wouldn't have accepted the "gift". By accepting it, they've opened themselves to criticism and to the questioning of their judgments.

Imagine if at the World Cup in South Africa, the Italian coach came up to every referee and offered him the keys to a brand new Ferrari. "We're not trying to influence your judgment, we just want you to have a...
